Microsoft's Visual Studio for macOS developers

Microsoft, today released its Visual Studio for developers on the macOS environment. The first preview of Visual Studio for Mac has Microsoft hoping that the cross-platform will encourage more developers to build for Windows.

Developers in the past, had to use a virtual machine or a Windows machine to do any kind of coding for the Windows environment. Now with this new release a developer can build an app from front end to server right inside of macOS With .NET Core and Azure connectivity. Using shared coding technology borrowed from Xamarin for Visual Studio the developer is able to build apps for Android, iOS or macOS in one place and increase productivity. Check back here as I dig into this new environment.

The Mac edition of Visual Studio is available currently in a preview build and can be downloaded here

The Drone That Almost Was!

In the past few weeks GoPro decided to recall its new portable drone known as Karma. After receiving rave reviews and quick sales, the drone encountered some unusual power loss in a few of it units.

GoPro stated “in a very small number of cases, Karma units lost power during operation.”

No injuries or damages have been reported at this time so it is in the best interest of GoPro to initiate this recall in a proactive manner. Those consumers needing to return the recalled drone can go to their place of purchase or to GoPro directly. A full refund is being offered with no word on when the Karma will be back on the market.

The timing of the recall is bad Karma for GoPro as drone manufacturer DJI announced their new portable drone Mavic one day after Karma's debut.
